El Curso Intensivo de Verano JULIO ABIERTO, es una oportunidad única para realizar una inmersión en la lengua y la cultura española, donde a la vez que se mejoran las competencias idiomáticas, se vive con intensidad el mundo hispánico en un contexto de convivencia multicultural.
Un curso orientado al alumno de cualquier nivel, que quiere mejorar su español en pocas semanas, divirtiéndose a la vez que aprende, conociendo la maravillosa Ciudad de Toledo, Patrimonio de la humanidad y su entorno, y compartiendo aprendizaje y experiencias con personas de todo el mundo.

PERFIL DEL ESTUDIANTE
Los Cursos Intensivos de Verano están abiertos a extranjeros mayores de 18 años, de perfil formativo diverso (estudiantes, graduados, profesionales, etc.). No se exige ningún requisito académico previo.
El curso admite alumnos de todos los niveles, desde principiantes (A1) hasta alumnos con una competencia avanzada (C1-C2).
Una de las principales características del curso es la composición plural de su alumnado procedente de países tan diversos como EEUU, Brasil, China, Alemania, Egipto, Senegal, Francia, Turquia, Polonia o Líbano, por ejemplo, aportando un ambiente de múltiples realidades geográficas, religiosas, o culturales, reunidas a través del interés por lo español.
CARACTERÍSTICAS ACADÉMICAS
PRUEBA DE NIVEL
El primer día de curso, adicionalmente a las horas lectivas, se realiza una prueba de clasificación de español, siguiendo los criterios del Marco Común Europeo de Referencia (MCER), a través de la cual se asigna al alumno al grupo más idóneo para su formación.
NIVELES IMPARTIDOS
- El curso puede impartir todos niveles, adaptables en función del número de alumnos y grupos.
- El número mínimo de alumnos por clase es de 13, para favorecer las tareas de relación y trabajo grupal.
OBJETIVOS y CONTENIDOS
Pinchando en cada nivel -subnivel se puede acceder a los OBJETIVOS y CONTENIDOS de las asignaturas de cada uno de ellos.
A1.1 – A1.2 – A2.1 – A2.2 – A2.3 – B1.1 – B1.2 – B2.1 – B2.1 – B2.2 – C1
ASIGNATURAS y HORAS LECTIVAS
- 20 horas lectivas por semana (80 h totales).
- Distribución de la carga horaria por materias:
- Niveles A1-A2-B1-B2-C1
- Competencias Lingüísticas: gramática y vocabulario (6h)
- Prácticas comunicativas: destrezas oral y auditiva (6h)
- El español escrito: comprensión lectora y producción de textos (6h)
- Competencias fonológicas: pronunciación y ortografía (2h)
- Las asignaturas se imparten en bloques de clases de dos horas de duración de las cuales 110 minutos (una hora y 50 minutos) son dedicados a la formación lectiva.
- Niveles A1-A2-B1-B2-C1
El estudiante dispone además de tutorías de apoyo para aclaración de dudas fuera del horario de clase.

¿DÓNDE SE IMPARTEN LAS CLASES?
Estudiar lengua y cultura española es una experiencia académica y personal que puede y debe extenderse fuera del aula.
PROGRAMA EXTRA ACADÉMICO-CULTURAL
Los cursos intensivos de verano incorporan 9 actividades extra académicas de marcado componente cultural muy vinculadas a la ciudad de Toledo, que contextualizan y sirven de apoyo a la actividad académica
- Tren turístico por Toledo
- Yincana de orientación toledana
- Visita al Complejo de San Pedro Mártir –Madre de Dios de la UCLM
- Toledo cristiano y musulmán: Catedral Primada de Toledo y Mezquita del Cristo de la Luz
- Toledo Judío: Sinagoga de Santa María la Blanca, Museo Sefardí y Monasterio de San Juan de los Reyes
- Visita: El Greco en Toledo
- Ruta nocturna por Toledo
- Actividad dinámica sobre El Greco
- Sesión didáctica de cine español
- Clase magistral de flamenco
- Actividad especial: Atardecer en los Molinos de Viento
Excursiones de sábado.
Las excursiones fuera de Toledo se ofertan dentro del paquete del curso completo. Con el objetivo de no interferir con el programa académico, se realizan siempre en sábado y están incluidas en el precio de matrícula.
Dado que en el curso se disfruta del patrimonio artístico y monumental de Toledo, las excursiones se orientan a conocer y disfrutar del Patrimonio Natural de nuestro país.
En el curso se ofertan dos excursiones: Valsaín (Segovia) y Candeleda (Ávila).
ACTIVIDAD ESPECIAL - ATARDECER EN LOS MOLINOS DE VIENTO
¿Te vas a perder esta puesta de sol?
En este curso nuestra actividad especial nos llevará en autobús hasta Consuegra, a una hora de Toledo. Es un enclave típicamente manchego, de los que encontramos descritos en la obra de Cervantes, por ello es uno de los lugares más destacados de la ruta del Quijote.
Nos encanta que nuestros estudiantes conozcan su conjunto monumental muy bien conservado.
Visitaremos su magnífico castillo medieval y después conoceremos desde dentro cómo funcionan los hermosos molinos de viento. Esos mismos molinos inspiraron a Miguel de Cervantes y fueron vistos por Don Quijote como gigantes.
Entre esos “gigantes” disfrutaremos de un atardecer muy especial en un lugar increíble y único.
Cerraremos esta magnifica tarde disfrutando juntos de una cena en un restaurante típico manchego.

- La Residencia te ofrece un mayor contacto con tus compañeros de curso en tu tiempo libre y de ocio.

PRUEBAS DE EVALUACIÓN. CERTIFICACIÓN DEL CURSO.
EVALUACIÓN
El alumno realiza un examen final que da la valoración cuantitativa de su aprovechamiento. Esta cifra es redondeada (al alza o a la baja) con los datos de participación, asistencia y actitud del estudiante durante el desarrollo del curso.
CERTIFICACIÓN
Al finalizar el curso, los alumnos que hayan superado el 80 % de asistencia mínima requerida, reciben un certificado del curso expedido por el Programa Español en Toledo de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha. En este certificado se refleja la nota final del alumno y el nivel idiomático con el que ha finalizado según los niveles del MCER.
El certificado también incluye la ASIGNACIÓN-EQUIVALENCIA de 8 CRÉDITOS ECTS que la UCLM reconoce por este curso.
En el caso de que así se requiera, la certificación puede incluir también información adicional para que este curso sea reconocido por la institución de origen del estudiante, quien puede convalidar los contenidos cursados a través de un convenio de colaboración entre ambas instituciones.

También, para estos grupos, se prevé la posible personalización de alguno de los servicios, y es posible re plantear la orientación académica de algunas de las materias que se imparten en el curso, para adaptarlas a las necesidades específicas del grupo.

The JULIO ABIERTO Summer Intensive Course is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the Spanish language and culture, where at the same time as improving your language skills, you will experience the Hispanic world intensely in a context of multicultural coexistence.
A course oriented towards students at all levels wishing to improve their Spanish level in a few weeks, having fun while learning, getting to know the wonderful city of Toledo, a World Heritage Site and its surroundings, and sharing experiences with people from all over the world.

STUDENT PROFILE
The Intensive Summer Courses are open to foreign people over 18 years of age, with a diverse educational profile (students, graduates, professionals, etc.). No academic prerequisites are required.
The course admits students of all levels, from beginners (A1) to advanced proficiency (C1-C2).
One of the main characteristics of the course is the variety of students from countries such as the USA, Brazil, China, Germany, Egypt, Senegal, France, Turkey, Poland and Lebanon, that provides an atmosphere of multiple geographical, religious and cultural realities, brought together through an interest in Spanish.
ACADEMIC CHARACTERISTICS
LEVEL TEST
In the first day of the course, outside of class hours, a Spanish classification test is carried out, following the criteria of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), through which the student is assigned to the most suitable group for their training.
LEVELS TAUGHT
- The course can be taught at all levels, adaptable according to the number of students and groups.
- The minimum number of students per class is 13, in order to encourage student’s relationships and group work tasks.

SUBJECTS AND TEACHING HOURS
- 20 teaching hours per week (80 h total).

- Linguistic Competence: grammar and vocabulary (6h)
- Communicative Competence: speaking and listening skills (6h)
- Spanish writing: reading and writing skills (6h)

- The subjects are taught in two-hour lecture blocks of which 110 minutes (one hour and 50 minutes) are devoted to classroom training.

The student also has support tutorials to clarify any doubts outside class hours.

WHERE DO THE LESSONS TAKE PLACE?
Studying the Spanish language and culture is an academic and personal experience that can and should be extended outside the classroom.
EXTRACURRICULAR - CULTURAL PROGRAMME
The intensive summer courses include 9 extracurricular – cultural activities closely linked to the city of Toledo, which contextualize and support the academic activity.
- Toledo touristic train.
- Visit to The Convent of San Pedro Martir.
- Christian Toledo: Primada Cathedral
- Muslim Toledo: The Cristo de la Luz Mosque and Toledo School of Translators.
- Jewish Toledo: Santa María la Blanca Synagog, Sefardic Museum and San Juan de los Reyes Monastery.
- Toledo Night Tour.
- El Greco: Dynamic activity.
- Flamenco Master Class.
- Spanish educational cinema session.
- Special activity: Sunset among the windmills.
Saturday trips.
The trips outside Toledo are offered with the full course. In order not to interfere with the academic programme, they always take place on Saturdays and are included in the price.
Given that during the course we enjoy the artistic and monumental heritage of Toledo, the trips are oriented towards getting to know and enjoying the Natural Heritage of our country.
The course offers 2 trips: Valsaín (Segovia) y Candeleda (Ávila).
SPECIAL ACTIVITY - SUNSET AMONG THE WINDMILLS
Are you going to miss this sunset?
In this course our special activity will take us by bus to Consuegra, one hour from Toledo. It is a typically La Mancha enclave, one of those described in the work of Cervantes, which is why it is one of the most prominent places on the Don Quixote route.
We love that our students get to know its very well-preserved monumental complex.
We will visit its magnificent medieval castle and then we will learn from the inside how the beautiful windmills work. Those same windmills inspired Miguel de Cervantes and were seen by Don Quixote as giants.
Among these “giants” we will enjoy a very special sunset in an incredible and unique place.
We will close this magnificent afternoon enjoying dinner together in a typical La Mancha restaurant.

EVALUATION TESTS. COURSE CERTIFICATION.
ASSESSMENT
The student takes a final test which provides the quantitative assessment of their achievement. This figure is rounded (up or down) with data on participation, attendance and attitude of the student during the course.
CERTIFICATION
At the end of the course, students who have passed the minimum 80% attendance requirement receive a course certificate issued by the Spanish in Toledo Programme of the University of Castilla-La Mancha. This certificate shows the student’s final mark and the language level attained according to the CEFR levels.
The certificate also includes the ASSIGNMENT-EQUIVALENCE of 8 ECTS CREDITS that the UCLM recognizes for this course.
If required, the certificate can also include additional information so that the course can be recognized by the student’s home institution, which can validate the contents of the course by means of a collaboration agreement between the two institutions.
