El Programa Español en Toledo (ESTO) es un centro de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) dedicado a la enseñanza de lengua y cultura española para extranjeros. Se encuentra integrado en la Fundación General de la UCLM desde donde se desarrolla y gestiona desde el 2001. Más información sobre la misión y visión del Programa Español en Toledo.
Desde diciembre 2015 es Centro Acreditado por el Instituto Cervantes, un sello de calidad que acredita su transparencia y buenos procedimientos en los ámbitos académico, administrativo y publicitario, así como la idoneidad de sus instalaciones.
También desde 2018 ostenta el distintivo SICTED, el Sistema Integral de Calidad Turística en Destino, que acredita las buenas prácticas y la calidad en la atención y servicios de nuestro centro de idiomas.
Desde sus inicios el centro ha crecido progresivamente y, a día de hoy, más de 6.000 alumnos internacionales han transitado por nuestras aulas a través de diferentes programas e iniciativas. Formamos anualmente en torno a los 400 estudiantes, con una estancia media superior a los 60 días por alumno. El periodo pico en la actividad del centro son los meses de mayo a julio
Nuestros estudiantes proceden mayoritariamente de instituciones universitarias de Estados Unidos, China, Corea y Brasil, pero también se reciben de alumnos todo el mundo y por nuestras aulas pasan estudiantes de Rusia, Japón, Líbano, Turquía, Senegal o Jordania, entre otros.
Todos nuestros estudiantes aprenden de la mano de un equipo de profesores de ESTO, formado por especialistas en ELE con amplia y reconocida experiencia docente y excelentes valoraciones de sus alumnos.
Año tras año, el Programa ESTO trabaja para ampliar su oferta formativa en lengua y cultura española. A disposición del estudiante individual se encuentran, entre otros, además de los cursos anuales y semestrales, los Cursos Intensivos de Verano, el Programa Aula Universitaria Abierta (AUNA), el «Programa Tres Culturas: Español en Toledo», cursos online, etc.
Otra tipología de cursos son los preparados a medida e impartidos específicamente para grupos procedentes de organizaciones e instituciones de todo el mundo.
La pertenencia del Programa ESTO a la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, una universidad pública, regional y generalista, facilita la interrelación y cooperación con facultades y especialistas en múltiples materias de nuestra universidad. Este estrecho vínculo favorece la posibilidad de construir excelentes cursos de español orientados a diversas áreas como, por ejemplo, la educación, enfermería, ingeniería, negocios, las ciencias jurídicas o el deporte.
La principal fortaleza del programa ESTO, sigue siendo su flexibilidad y su capacidad para diseñar cursos a la carta para instituciones de todo el mundo.
A lo largo de estos años, numerosas organizaciones y universidades de todo el mundo han confiado en ESTO para desarrollar sus programas de estudio en el extranjero.
El centro también coopera desde su pertenencia a la UCLM (firmante de SICELE) con otros organismos dedicados a la difusión de la lengua española como el Instituto Cervantes y con organizaciones relacionadas con nuestra lengua y con estudiantes extranjeros (ACLES, APUNE, ASELE, p.e.) .
El Programa Español en Toledo fue el primer centro en Castilla-La Mancha reconocido por el Instituto Cervantes como examinador oficial del DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera). Numerosos alumnos extranjeros acreditan su nivel de español en nuestro centro desde el año 2009.
También desde el 2015 es centro examinador de las pruebas de nacionalidad CCSE (Conocimientos Constitucionales y Socioculturales de España).

Presentation
Programa Español en Toledo (ESTO) is a center of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) dedicated to the teaching of Spanish language and culture for foreign people. It is part of the General Foundation of the UCLM from where it has been developed and managed since 2001. More information about the mission and vision of the Programa Español in Toledo.
Since December 2015, it has been an Accredited Center by the Instituto Cervantes, a seal of quality that accredits its transparency and good procedures in the academic, administrative and advertising fields, as well as the suitability of its facilities.
Also since 2018, it holds the SICTED distinction, the Integral System of Tourist Quality in Destination, that accredits good practices and quality in the attention and services of our language center.
Since its inception, the center has grown progressively and today more than 6,000 international students have attended our classrooms through different programmes and initiatives. We train around 400 students annually, with an average stay of more than 60 days per student. The peak period for the center’s activity is from May to July.
Our students come mainly from universities in the United States, China, Korea and Brazil, but we also receive students from all over the world (Russia, Japan, Lebanon, Turkey, Senegal and Jordan, among others).
All our students learn under the guidance of ESTO’s team of teachers, consisting of ELE (Spanish as a foreign language) specialists with extensive and recognized teaching experience and excellent feedback from their students.
Year after year, the ESTO Program works to expand its educational offer in the Spanish language and culture. In addition to the annual and semester courses, the student can find the Intensive Summer Courses, the Programa Aula Universitaria Abierta (AUNA), the “Three Cultures Program: Spanish in Toledo”, online courses, etc.
Other types of courses are the ones that are tailor-made and offered specifically to groups from organizations and institutions from all over the world.
The ESTO Programme’s membership in the University of Castilla-La Mancha, a public, regional and generalist university, facilitates the interrelation and cooperation with faculties and specialists in multiple subjects of our university. This close link boosts the possibility of building excellent Spanish courses oriented to diverse areas such as education, nursing, engineering, business, legal sciences or sports.
The main strength of the ESTO programme is its flexibility and ability to design customized courses for institutions around the world.
Over the years, several organizations and universities from all over the world have relied on ESTO to develop their study abroad programmes.
Moreover, the center, since it belongs to the UCLM (signatory of SICELE), cooperates with other organizations dedicated to the dissemination of the Spanish language, such as the Instituto Cervantes and organizations related to our language and foreign students (ACLES, APUNE, ASELE, e.g.).
Programa Español en Toledo was the first center in Castilla-La Mancha to be recognized by the Instituto Cervantes as an official examiner of the DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera). Several foreign students have accredited their level of Spanish in our center since 2009.
Also since 2015, it is an examining center for the CCSE (Constitutional and Sociocultural Knowledge of Spain) nationality tests.
